Company History

The Lakewood Supply Co. has been owned and operated by the Scheuer Family since it's incorporation in 1932. It all began in 1910 when John Scheuer started a builders supply company to service the concrete and masonry contractors. The offices and warehouse were located on Berea Road in Cleveland. This was a profitable endeavor until the 1929 crash causing this company to close it's doors. In 1932, Robert R. Scheuer, son of John Scheuer borrowed $300.00 from his mother to start a new supply company which was called the Lakewood Mason Supply Co. From this time forward efforts were made to supply the mason and cement contractors with specialty products used in their trades. In the mid 1950's the name was changed to the Lakewood Supply Co.

During the 1930's and the 1940's the company was located on Norton Road in Cleveland, which is now the current location of the RTA Westpark Rapid Station. Early in the 1950's, the company moved to West 140th Street where it has been until April of 2001.

In 1976, Robert R. Scheuer passed away and the control was given to his son Robert Scheuer who is currently the Owner and President of the company. Bob has spent his last 45 years working in the company cleaning the offices, working in the warehouse, driving delivery trucks and working in the bookkeeping and sales office.

The decision to relocate the company to West 150th Street and I-480 will ensure the longevity of the Lakewood Supply Co. This move, along with having extremely dedicated and conscientious employees will enable the company to provide it's customers continued competitive pricing and the very best service in the construction industry.
